SUMMER CAMP

SPRING BREAK 2024 CAMP

Enjoy hands-on behind the scenes experiences at our farm, learning how we raise and care for our 28 horses through barn activities and arts and crafts.  Students take a daily  riding lesson and learn the basics of horsemanship and horse care.  Circle Lake Ranch’s Summer Horse Camps in Katy, Texas are celebrating our 26th year anniversary.

Come join the fun! We have taught over 10,000 students to ride.  Our programs are for the beginner equestrian student.  Classes are held in an air-conditioned classroom, or in our covered arena (unless it is an outdoor activity).

Frequently Asked Questions

We require a medical and liability release to be signed prior to riding. Both parents must sign the liability release. For children requiring special needs, we refer to the outstanding programs at both Reining Strength 832-451-6874 and SIRE 281-344-4308.

We have 25 years of experience and have taught over 10,000 riders. Students receive daily instruction in horseback riding, and safety is our ultimate priority. Side-walkers are available for each beginner student until they are able to control their horses. We own over twenty-seven horses, each selected for their gentle personalities. Our programs teach horsemanship and strive to build children’s self-confidence.

In addition to a daily riding lesson, students will rotate through different learning centers that may include but are not limited to: horse feeding, tacking (putting equipment on the horse), washing & grooming, identifying the parts of a horse, saddle, and bridle, and producing artwork that is learning and horse-oriented.

The cost is $499, which is paid as a non-refundable deposit of $199 at sign-up with the balance of $300 due the first morning of camp. Registration is completed online with payments through PayPal.  Your confirmation will not be sent until your online registration is complete.  If you need to cancel your camp registration, we will transfer your deposit to another camp date (if one is available) or exchange it for riding lessons within 60 days of the scheduled camp in case of emergency or illness. Cash refunds are not provided.

We require the following forms the first day of camp and can be found above:

  • Registration Form
  • Medical Form (requires notarization)
  • Doctor’s Release for Physical Activity dated within the past year.
  • Liability Waiver signed by both parents or legal guardian(s).
  • The beginner horse day camp is for ages 7–12. If your child is older they can enroll in our regular lesson program during the summer. We cannot take students under the age of 7.
  • Camp sessions are held from 8 am – 12 noon, Monday through Friday. There is a $10 penalty for late pick-ups.
  • Riders must wear jeans or riding pants and appropriate footwear: paddock, riding, or cowboy boots — NO TENNIS SHOES. Helmets are required for horseback riding, and riders are encouraged to bring their own helmets. Bicycle and skateboard helmets are not designed for equestrian safety. We have helmets to loan if you do not own one. The ranch also has a small equipment store that sells boots, helmets, attire and riding equipment. The riders also need to eat breakfast and apply sunscreen before coming each day (although we usually ride under shade cover).
  • Security is important to us. Therefore, we cannot have parents on premises staying with the children.  Our staff is kind, caring, and attentive.
