How much do horse riding lessons cost in Katy, Texas?

Horse riding lesson pricing in the Katy and west Houston area depends on three things: lesson length, lesson format, and whether tack and a lesson horse are included. Most reputable barns publish prices between $60 and $100 per hour. Anything significantly below that range usually means a shared horse, a shorter mounted time, or no on-site coach supervision. What's typically included At Circle Lake Ranch (1134 FM 1463, Katy, TX 77494), weekly group riding lessons are $280 per month. Each rider reserves a one-hour slot with 50 minutes of instruction, and the price covers a matched lesson horse, English or Western tack, and a fitted ASTM/SEI-certified helmet. There are no separate facility, tack, or horse-use fees. What drives the price Three factors push lesson rates up or down: the experience level of the coach, the quality and number of school horses the barn maintains, and the facility itself (covered arena, round pen, groomed footing). Boarding-only barns that "also do lessons" are usually cheaper but offer fewer school horses and limited beginner curriculum. How to budget for the first 6 months For a beginner riding once a week at Circle Lake Ranch, plan on $280 per month. A typical beginner reaches a confident walk-trot-canter in 20 to 30 lessons. How to enroll New students enroll through the registration form on the Circle Lake Ranch lessons page, and families can call or text (281) 395-4311 with questions.
