What Your Child Will Learn
Horse Camp at Circle Lake Ranch Since 1998
Circle Lake Ranch has run summer horse camp in Katy, Texas every year since 1998. Across those summers the ranch has welcomed more than 3,400 summer camp registrations — that counts camp spots and registrations, not unique children, since many campers attend several weeks or come back in later years.
Camp has always been built on structured horsemanship education rather than pony rides. Historically that has meant riding instruction matched to each child's level, grooming and horse care, horse knowledge and handling, and the safety education that underpins all of it.
The teaching philosophy behind camp is the same one behind our year-round lessons: the horse comes first, safety is taught rather than assumed, and children are told why things are done. Activities are planned fresh each season, so what a particular summer includes is confirmed with registered families for that year.

How Camp Registration Works
This is how every Circle Lake Ranch camp season runs, whatever year it is.
- 1.
We publish the season
Camp weeks are chosen after Katy ISD releases its school calendar, then posted on this page. Historically that is around January. We never post estimated dates.
- 2.
You complete the registration form
The form tells us your child's age, experience and preferred week. Completing it does not by itself hold a place.
- 3.
We confirm your child's place
Circle Lake Ranch reviews the week you asked for and confirms in writing whether your child has a spot.
- 4.
Only then do you pay
Payment details are sent directly to your family after we confirm the place. There is no public camp payment button on this website, and we never ask for money for an unconfirmed spot.
- 5.
Before a season is published, join the Priority List
The free 2027 Priority List simply asks us to contact you when dates and registration information are released. It is not registration and it does not reserve or guarantee a camp spot.
